Our story
About
In the heart of Lecce, Filiera was imagined as a countryside café — a meeting place for coffee, food, and wine, where morning light falls across shared tables, bottles line the shelves, and every ingredient carries a trace of its land and the story of where it comes from.
What began as a simple idea has grown into a space shaped by a deeper belief: that food is not merely something we consume, but something that connects us — to the land, to the seasons, and to the people who produce it.
Our approach is guided by origin. We work closely with small producers, farmers, and winemakers who share a respect for time, soil, and process, selecting ingredients not only for their quality or taste, but for where they come from — prioritising what is local and supporting biodiversity.
The space reflects this philosophy — open, informal, and quietly intentional. A place to begin the day with coffee and something simple, to pause over a glass of wine in the afternoon, or to gather around the table at lunch or as the day unfolds.
At Filiera, every detail is part of a larger story: one that reconnects food with its roots, and people with the meaning of choosing what to eat and the joy of sharing it.
Team
Filiera has grown and evolved over the years thanks to an incredible group of people who have brought their passion, creativity, and expertise to the café. Many have left a lasting mark on the identity of the space, and we are grateful to the regulars who have shared the journey with us since the very beginning.
We are equally proud to work closely with some of the finest producers, farmers, and artisans in Italy. From food to drink, our collaborators include small-scale growers, wineries, bakeries, and importers who share our commitment to quality, seasonality, and sustainability — names such as Marco di Forno Tempera, Andrea di Settecroste, Loco Vini, Masseria la Cattiva, Acido Lab and many others. Each of them contributes to the story of Filiera, helping us bring food from the land to the table in a way that honors its origins and the people behind it.
